On July 26, Chen Dezheng, Executive Deputy Director of the China-Pacific Island Countries Climate Change Cooperation Center, and a 38-member delegation visited Shandong Lisente Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. for an inspection tour accompanied by the Foreign Affairs Office of Weifang Municipal Party Committee. The delegation conducted on-site research on China’s protected agriculture solutions for climate change adaptation. Wang Shoubo, Chairman of the company, and his team extended a warm reception.
The delegation arrived at Lisente’s industrial park at 9 a.m. They first watched the corporate promotional video to learn about the company’s 17-year development journey. A pioneer of Chinese protected agriculture going global, Lisente was founded in Shouguang in 2009. It has long focused on greenhouse technology research & development and project construction. In 2015, the company launched its global agricultural strategy in response to the Belt and Road Initiative.
At the company exhibition hall, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of Lisente’s full industrial chain service model of “one-stop customized greenhouse solutions worldwide”. The company boasts a comprehensive technical portfolio covering solar greenhouses, multi-span glass greenhouses and film greenhouses, as well as supporting equipment, environmental control systems and planting technology transfer. Its products have obtained CE and EAC international certifications. Equipped with core technologies such as high-pressure sodium lamp supplementary lighting and precision environmental regulation, Lisente can deliver localized solutions tailored to the climatic conditions of different countries.
Afterwards, the delegation carried out field inspections at demonstration bases featuring solar greenhouses of various functions and supporting facilities. The commentator introduced the structural features, energy-saving performance and climate adaptability of different greenhouses. The energy-efficient solar greenhouse independently developed by Lisente features sound thermal insulation and low energy consumption. It plays a positive role in tackling extreme weather and safeguarding food security, leaving a deep impression on the delegation.
The delegation focused on Lisente’s global layout. At present, overseas revenue accounts for more than 50% of the company’s total revenue. Its projects span many Eurasian countries including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. The company has undertaken landmark projects such as the 7-hectare greenhouse in Belarus, the 600,000-square-meter greenhouse in Uzbekistan and the 8,000-square-meter greenhouse in Vietnam, exporting advanced agricultural technologies originating from Shouguang to all corners of the globe.
Chen Dezheng spoke highly of Lisente’s technical capabilities and achievements in global business expansion. He noted that climate change is a common challenge facing all mankind. Lisente’s greenhouse technologies offer replicable Chinese solutions for developing countries to strengthen agricultural risk resilience and safeguard food security. He expressed the expectation to advance agricultural technology cooperation with Pacific Island Countries.
This inspection built a communication bridge for Chinese agricultural technologies to support global climate governance. Moving forward, Lisente will continue to deepen its presence in protected agriculture, drive green and low-carbon agricultural development through innovative technologies, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to global climate change response.
